"How Do You Know If You Hear God’s Voice?"
By: Christi Given
Today, we live in a world filled with so many options and distractions, God’s voice can easily be drowned out. How can we hear God’s voice if we’re always on our phones and filling up our schedules and we never sit and make time to read God’s Word? And when we do, in fact, make time for God, how do we know if He is really speaking to us?
Sometimes God speaks to us through His Word, through people or through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Dreams, visions, and through the Bible). God can speak through people like a pastor or another believer, but remember, He will never contradict His Word. Always ask yourself, “Does this line up with God’s truth?” If it doesn’t, then it probably is not of God and is a counterfeit or is false.
The Bible says that Jesus is our shepherd and we are like sheep (John 10:3). The Word of God says that the Lord’s voice will be distinct from a stranger’s, and that the more we read the Word, the more we will be familiar and clear about God’s direction for our lives.
Ask God to speak to you and I’m certain He will!
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
-John 10:27-28
